I have just moved back from America and brought most of my toys, but i need to sell some to make room for others,so i am selling my 1971 240z.It has no motor or box,but i can get them when i bring over the rest of my stuff.Car presently has a 13B turbo rotary motor in it,but that will be removed before sale.Still has original engine mounts in car, rotary conversion was never finished.Car is located in Brisbane,I am looking to get $10,000 for it,the car is very straight, has only a couple very small rust spots, but nothing for a 240Z,I can be contacted on 0478001286.Thanks for looking.

Am unclear as to the plan - is it your intention to sell the car as a rolling shell complete (or incomplete?) project with motor & box supplied? Would it be the original L24 motor & (presumably, being an early USA-spec 240Z, a 4-speed not 5) gearbox?

Did you get an import approval for the car, & have you got any other paperwork with it?

Thanks

Car is located in Chermside,It is to be sold as a rolling shell, unless someone wants the rotary motor, otherwise i have plans for the motor.Car has import approval and title, was originally a 4 speed.I still have the original motor and gearbox in Tennessee if someone wants it,i can bring them over in a couple months time.Just throwing the price out there,i am open to offers, but i am selling my LHD rx2 coupe and my 57 chevy 4 door hardtop Belair,I only want to sell two, when two of the three are sold,i will keep what i have left.Datsun has Leather series 6 Rx7 seats. It only has a few small rust bubbles, car is very solid,it was stored in a garage for many years.

I'm not trying to be a wet blanket but I think you will struggle to get anywhere near $10K for a LHD shell with rust. The same car in RHD would only fetch about $4-5K.

$10k can get a complete and registerable 2 seater requiring some tidy up.

If there is something special about this car let us know because it will improve your chances.

is it possible to rego this thing here as a LHD?

It should be pretty easy to register as a LHD as it's older than 25 years. There are a heap of old US cars running around in LHD so it shouldn't be a problem.

It could also be a problem because the S30 was sold here in RHD form, so may not meet transport requirements.

As a base for a track car it would be a good thing, especially for Sc as a 280Z if you can get away with running the lighter 240 running gear like the R180 diff.

This car can be registered as LHD,it will need an LO2 compliance(headlights, seatbelts).Obviously i have priced it too high,so the first five grand will take it home.I am staying with a brother at the moment, and he does not have the room for all my cars.I can be contacted on 0478001286.
