tir33d Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Hey fellas, I have a strange prob with 280 the I bought out of QLD (and no it isn't because it floated down a river). On a cool morining the car will start and rev freely, but after running for 45 secs it develops major fueling issues and eventually stalls. It seems like the cold enrichment function of the computer makes the car work fine, but as soon as some heat is present it changes and runs like a pig. Any ideas........ Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted January 22, 2011 Moderators Posted January 22, 2011 Cold start injector stuck open? I think it's located behind the throttle body. Quote
tir33d Posted January 23, 2011 Author Posted January 23, 2011 Removed the line running to the cold start with no effect, tried running a vacuum pump on the fuel pressure regulator , no effect, I have a wire hanging off the cold start fuction but doesn't seem to effect anything when plugged into a off a few wires just hanging around (air cond has been removed). Its a little strange that when you crimp the fuel line that the motor begins to run fine. So its definetly a case of excessive fuel rather than lack of. I tell ya, this LS1 conversion is looking more likely. Quote
Daedalus-Z Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Possibly worth checking the airflow meter. All sorts of interesting fuel-related problems can occur when they start to pack up as they rarely seem to just stop working, rather they just begin sending increasingly odd and inaccurate readings that can play havoc with the ECU. I've seen similar issues on a Z31 with a dying MAF, but it also had trouble keeping a steady idle. Quote
