Hey everybody, i'm a newly hooked zed enthusiast looking to buy a 240/260z. I've been crusing the net for a while and came across this 240z on carsales.com.au. I was wondering on what everyones opinion was on what this cars actual value is, with a bit of work i think it could end up a really great car? Any advice would be much appreciated.

As i'm a student my budget for the foreseeable future is about $15k but that will increase with time. I don't really know how far i could get with the car on that but hopefully it would be enough to get the car clean and running.

Another option was this 260z from southbank which looks in good condition inside and out but is an auto which would have to be fixed.

Hey and welcome to the forum.

Don't want to comment on the purple beast that you've found there, I'm an old school boy (like 'em original)

But that Green one, well, it was on car sales when I was looking to buy my first z, back in 2004! And it was located in southbank then, as it is now. I cannot believe that it has been for sale all this time!

Hi,

Welcome. Both cars have been for sale for some time now. The purple one has a kit on it I've never seen before. Personally I would keep away from that sort of thing.

The green car looks nice, i reckon you could negotiate hard on it if he really wants to sell, check it properly. Hard to say anything about condition as you really need to look for rust in all the usual places on these cars, mechanics are easy enough to fix but rust can be a pain.

Use the search function above and search rust, you'll see there are common places to look on Z's, some areas les serious than others obviously.

For 10 to 12K you should be able to find a very clean close to rust free car thats ready to drive and enjoy. Theres a huge amount of mods you can do to these cars depending on what you want to acheive but engine mods ie to later model RB Nissan motors quickly add up to 10K so if your after something like that try and buy it all done and save some mulla.

good luck

keep an eye out in the classifieds here as members try and post anything they find thats selling to assist others like your self to find a Z!

i agree with all previous statements.....bith cars have been for sale foreva...the purple one looks like one big problem....and the widening kit makes it look disgusting from behind...the green one looks like a nice example....i used that interior as a basis for mine. Rust would be the main issue with that one i would think.

good luck with ur search....and im sure ur budget will allow you to pick up an awesome zed.

cheers, JP.
