kobes Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Just had my car go over pits, (260z) and the only defect was the non-self cancelling indicators. Which apparently need to be effective. An aftermarket s/wheel is installed, apart from spending big dollars in trying to fix the problem anybody know any hints or tricks to solve my problem even if it is only to get it over the pits? Thanks Kobes Quote
. Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 The indicator stalk has little mechanisms that catch on little steel tubes poking out the back of your steering wheel (or BOSS if you have an after market wheel) Check the mechanism and the tubes are both in place and are contacting with each other as you spin the wheel. If the tubes are not there (Which I suspect is the case) you may be able to grab some of the tubes from another steering wheel or buy a new BOSS. Quote

kobes Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 there are 2 pins that need to be installed on back of boss kit!! Thanks guys, Just checked.. Looks like i might be up for a new boss kit as pins seem to be gone! at least it may not be totally gone. Also if you have any knowledge on replacment parts for left hand rack boot (steering) it may be helpful, i was going to try out a universal one tonight, Quote
RayRay Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 If your after one steering rack boot I may have one in my garage somewhere. I'll PM you if I find it. Its a universal type from Blackdragon. Quote

Moderators Zedman240® Posted November 24, 2010 Moderators Posted November 24, 2010 Dont need a new boss kit; just install a couple of "roll pins" which is what they are called. Any good bolt/bearing place should stock them. If you have trouble finding them, I have some where i work. Just need an original wheel to see where they are pressed into. Might be M3-M4 but check length from original wheel. Quote
