The full AZC rear set up was used including dog legs, diff brace, moustache bar and lower control arms that were loosely fitted to the car and diff to ensure everything would bolt up correctly. Then the SWM CV joints were also mated up to the diff and stubs/strut. Being quite happy with the Koni/Kings set up already in, the struts were just blasted and coated seeing as we were there.

Finding a good used AZC/Willwood four corner brake kit was a great opportunity, but also a hindrance as other than being complete overkill, mechanical handbrake solutions are not really Dave's forte. Jason and I had to do a lot of asking around as to how a bracket could be used against the AZC calliper bracket and/or positioned correctly on the strut to brace the cable as it was actuated. Eventually the original brackets were re-positioned on the struts.

All in all it has been a good upgrade, the adjustability is far better than original and granny's teeth definitely will get air borne. Car has been aligned by Leda Suspension and I will drop by there again soon to get the measurements to then use as a future baseline.

Looking good Casey.

Maybe I should have used italics for my diff mount comments :)

And I should have distracted you better to get the "moustache brace" in upside down.......... Just to really annoy when people point it out and you can't be arsed pulling everything apart to flip over.........

Up front is AZC/Willwood and the bloomin callipers are huuuge! So much so that my Simmons don't fit anymore which was a real shame. I really like the look of them on the car and my first 240 had the same rims. Rota RB-X's are doing the job for the moment and don't have a stepped inner that was fowling on the monster brakes. We drove the car around Jason's driveway and the suburbs to get the pads heated and rust off the rotors. Only problem was the pads are Racecar so don't get happy till over 100. May look at some Hawk alternatives in the future once the car is driving again.

Seeing as the car is up and the majority of underneath is being upgraded, it made the fuel tank look a little average. It was a little difficult getting it out, but after removal it was easy to see that the fuel sender was shot, and a refirb would make a difference. After dropping the tank in to a local specialist, it was decided that Redi-Coat was not needed as the tank was in very good condition internally. A three step dipping process was done and the tank was re-sprayed.

There were a few minor dents under the tank that could not be removed due to their location and the baffling within the tank, but it adds character! Powder coated the straps silver and replaced the rubber insulating with a thicker rubber, as the originals looked pretty thin.
