Yup I have one from Alfa motorsport. My purpose it is great. But it does bow in the middle of the top. You could probably modify it to sit down a bit. Everything else was perfect.

They look quite good, only drama is getting the rubber window glass seal to fit over the fibre glass lip, as this is a bit thicker then the original hatch steel lip, most who go for the f/g hatch then go for a plastic windo ( lexan/perspex) and use Sikaflex to fix the window to the surround, it can look neat and almost original until the window starts to scratch. You could try Sikaflexing the original glass into a f/g surround??

They aren't the worry, it is f/g bonnets that are the worry, but only for cars down Conrod at Bathurst, ie approx 220 kmh plus speeds, couple of fellow Qlder's had theirs ripped off and it flew some 60 foot into the air, and landed some 20 foot off the track edge, they got it back, but then used some rather ugly beefy alloy strapping, and four bonnet pins to make sure it didnt happen again. Check out the post re Qld Z club racing at Bathurst in the Racing section, a quite funny and interesting read

Can you tell me if you can rely on Sikaflex only?

I'm not so much worried about the scratching as I'm using Lexan but I'm concerned about the window bowing and blowing out. I will have sliding windows which will only open to 50% at max so I'm not sure what sort of cabin pressure will be created. I don't want to use retaining straps

I am thinking of drilling a series of holes very close to the perimeter of the window and bolting the Lexan to the fibreglass (not much to work with) with countersunk bolts. I might then use a 'Ferrari' style trim to hide the screws. It's a lot of work if the Sikaflex alone will work.

Hi

Sikiflex works just fine - tested my 2 zed cars cars at Bathurst in 2010 & no drama!

Remember to buy the correct product & for perspex etc. it comes with a separate sikiflex primer to ensure good bonding.

However, don't stress too much as one of my rear screens did not use primer & it still stayed in down conrod with the windows fully open.

The world surely is a complex animal, after checking out a mob of sheep today i spotted the rear end of a z outside a shed that I have passed on many occasions.Went straight in and was allowed to check it out , the only really salvageable part was the rear hatch and it was covered in lichen/moss , most of the panels were damaged and the car had been stripped of nearly everthing else. It was a 2 seater made in 3/73.

How much are the f/g hatches, complete cost including i.e. perspex, etc. please

Simon , your dyslexia is only surpassed by your primal beastality urges.

That is also the reason that when u visit we will never take you near a mob of sheep again , they got way to nervous to muster after you  endeavoured to catch the pretty ones all day, last time.

You are the master , light master .

But can u give me an idea of pricing on a f/g rear hatch
