L26 bore notching for an N42

Just about to fit an N42 head to my L26

 

The L26 is already bore notched for the exhaust valves from the late model E88 head that was already on there.

 

Given that the N42 - has 44mm inlet valves (as opposed to the 42mm inlets on the E88) , presumbly there has to be notching on the inlet side of the cylinder as well to accomodate these?

There are only notches on the exhaust side. This is 40 thou (1mm) overbore.

yes - my l26 looks like that too - with the notches on the exhaust port side

 

If you didn't have the overbore - would you have needed bore notching for the inlets using the N42?

Even as a standard bore block it never had notching on the inlet side. The rebore was done just over a year ago.

+1 just make sure you use the dowes... done it before, no issues.
