G'day all

I am trying to find then acquire IMSA wide body front and rear guards . Does anybody know if there is a supplier in Aust. or by any remote chance have a set lying around that they want to sell.

These are the 7" rear and 5" front guards .

The rears being fireglass attached on original panel, whereas the front replace the existing guard.

There is a manufacturer in the USA , but frieght might be a problem ...smashing in transit etc

Or has anyone adapted similar guards.

have a look at VW beetle guards, in steel, they have a nice rolled lip inside them also,

you can graft them on easily....ish if you have some form of exp, then just bog/f-glass to blend the joins....

but otherwise imsa's are a good flare, if you have to chop up the poor girl......

Quick google turns up these guys, who reckon they've got cheap shipping to Australia (look at the bottom of the description of any of the flares).  Worth seeing what it is, and whether you can get any kind of insurance on it?

Dunno how the rears would fit on a 2+2 though (yours is a 2+2 isn't it, or did you get a 2 seater as well?)

Yes I still have the 2+2 ,but have aquired a 240z  number  406  that had a old 350 v8 in it. I am in the process of setting the 240 up for track work .

It now has a LS1 and 6 speed, it sounds awesum.

Some of the 2+2 race gear has been installed into the 240, but the rim / tyre size needed to be upgraded to 17x9.5"x245 [probably will go wider after I get to know the car], hence the need for large flares

One problem that I've encountered is that the previous owner decided to install a S13 rear end this has added to the width of the rearend

So I have  added 40mm spacers to the front end , to even up the track width front to rear

Thats why I need the race type IMSA flares , just like the ones seen in the "zccjdm" site mentioned above

The freight cost from USA could kill off the dream

Those ones on ebay will be worth investigating, Even if they become a stop gap filler until I can afford the USA ones

And you never know someone might have a set sitting around at the back of a shed beside an unfinished project ...heres hoping  :D :D

thanks for the continued help

As I said, that site I linked specifically mentions Australian customers and cheap shipping in the descriptions.  Worth finding out...
