Corner lights / front indicators

Ive read that the Australian 240Z came with the split type corner lights, i like to get a set of them on my car, are they avalible down there and if so where can i get some.

You mean the front indicator/park lights under the headlights with the seperate indicator and parker lamps? They aren' t the easiest to come across in excellent condition. Just have to keep a lookout for them in the classifieds.

All 260Z's come with them - try courtesy parts in the US they will probably be called euro lenses.

 

I take it you have a 240Z?

I just got a new 7/73 240Z that came with the original big orange box indicators bolted to the top of the front bar so i doubt any model 240Z came with them.

Yes yes yes man, that's the kind, are they standard equipped to Australian cars?

Box indicators bolted to top of front bar, that sounds like UK specs. are those also standard in Aus ? i don't think it will do me any good to contact Curtesey parts, they are a US Nissan dealership and i can't see why they should stock parts for a non US marked.

240Z's got the single globe (but with double filament like a brake light globe) and the clear lens and the US/Japan got the amber lens. Aust 260Z got the housing with 2 seperate globe holders with an internal amber lens for the indicator and a clear outer lens. Chris, I have the 260Z type with the internal amber lens with the splitter. If you have the amber 240Z ones with the double filament, if you are happy we can swap? I've been after some amber ones for my zed..

Dimitri, if that's so, i will be happy to swap, i believe the set i have on my car is with single filament, but let me check to see if the spare set i have is with double, or am i confusing something here, i know the spare set i have is from a 260Z US spec.

On my car i have rewired it, so now they work as turn signals, i would like to have them wired as driving lights, but we are not allowed to have orange pointing forward and can't have white turn signals.

Just for your interest, you don't need double filament, even if you want to use it as corner lights and turnsignal at the same time, if you wanna know how, i can teach you, mail me at chrmeyer@live.dk
