New front bumper

Yep I bought one from the guys in QLD early last year...........on arrival the bar looked great and was the correct shape..........until I turned in over and found that in had no mounting plates welded inside 

 

I called the seller and told me to "weld some in" ..............what a joke..........the seller said that he deals in Mazda parts so did not know what to look for .......I shipped it back for a refund however it still cost me the $40 return freight.

 

The new batch apparently have the mounts welded in .............ask lots of questions and get some more photos before buying

Hmmm spending $40 on nothing, he is stating that he will soon offering the rear bumper aswell.

85 looks and only 1 reply, isn't there anyone else here who have tried it, there must be some, can't be the same bumper he keeps re listing.

spoke to him sometime last year and ask to see if he sells both front and rear. at that time he only had bracketless front bars.

it seems a bit pricey so i went for fg instead.

I think its irresponsible that he doesn't say anything about it requiring welding in the ebay ad. Even if it doesn't he should be clear. Obviously in the picture he is using there are no brackets, so one can only assume that he is selling it without brackets.

He has a store just out at lawnton. I went there when they first popped up and they were bracket less. I heard through the grape vine that they were getting ones with brackets. Either way they did look pretty good quality. Though I suspect welding on a bracket will likely make the chrome peel/discolour. I would only buy by taking my bumper to his shop and measuring it against the one he has to make sure the brackets fit.

Yes the bracket's should be welded on before chroming it, i know about those Vietnam made stainless ones, so noone have ever tried the ebay bumper.

Didn't realise that the ones I posted were vietnam ones. Have seen stainless ones from US and UK manufacturers.

Yeah, same cup of soup just one trying to make some bucks, i reckon.

 

If a Australian company can make a bumper and pay Aus labor, then sell it for $399, then i would say this is over priced, considering the Vietnamese labor.

I don't reckon that the $399 bumper is australian.

When I went to check it out his excuse for not having the mounts was that "Maybe the American ones don't have the same type of mounts".

 

By the look of his show room he imports a lot of gear and resells it.
