Moderators Zedman240® Posted October 12, 2009 Moderators Posted October 12, 2009 Some had the single speaker mounted near the power antenna; remove the trim and have a peek! Quote
OZ001 Posted October 12, 2009 Author Posted October 12, 2009 Some had the single speaker mounted near the power antenna; remove the trim and have a peek! man this is harder than finding wally... cant seem to find it yet >< Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted October 12, 2009 Moderators Posted October 12, 2009 I doubt but check behind the panel inside the car near the door latch; behind the seat in front of the rear wheels. 260's had them there but the amount of differences I've seen between zed's...nothing surprises me anymore. WA240Z Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 man this is harder than finding wally... cant seem to find it yet >< The orginal, AM, auto station find radio does have the speaker mounted behind the trim on the left side of the car. Same position as Zedman 240 mentioned. Do you have the original radio still in the car? If not the original speaker may have also been removed or disconnected. Just a hint when removing and replacing the plastic trim, it becomes quite stiff over the years, I use a hair dryer on the plastic to give it a little bit of suppleness, makes it much easier to work with. chris240 Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 my factory speakers where in the corners of the rear hatch area...as mentioned look for the perforations...and yep, be carefull pulling out the panels. you may be able to remove the tailight globe cover-piece and shove your hand in and poke around Quote
OZ001 Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 found where the speakers use to be... no speakers gotat put speakers in myself Quote
Kodie Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 If you want half decent sound and aren't worried about being concourse then replacing the speaker is a good thing Quote
240Z Guy Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Hello Everyone, I was wanting to install new speakers in my 240z as currently the speakers are 6x9 in boxes sitting in the boot which i don't like as i would prefer a cleaner look. According to my Haynes manual the original speakers have some sort of mounting bracket i can't tell what size they are i'm assuming either 4' or 6'. I pulled off the trim and found that at some point the speakers have been replaced but are now mounted different as shown in the photo. Does anyone know what the original brackets look like or know where to get them? Quote
Mr Camouflage Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 they look like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/71-DATSUN-240Z-SPEAKER-BRACKET-WITH-BAFFLE-AND-WIRING-HARNESS-OEM-PARTS-/221656449988?_trksid=p2054897.l4275 Quote
Stivva Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I actually cad designed a speaker bracket that mounts in the original spots in both left and right side that fits a 6 or 6.5 inch speaker. You only had to print it out at 100% and cut it out on tin. I run these in my car and they are great. I have the design uploaded on facebook Quote
