Moderators Zedman240® Posted August 20, 2009 Moderators Posted August 20, 2009 Greetings all, been to all the wreckers around my area, asked everyone I know, looking for the lower radiator hose connection that goes onto the front timing cover (that's held on with the two 10mm bolts) but with the 3 outlets; 1) Radiator hose 2) Heater hose that runs along the block 3) The smaller hose connection that points up from #2 And also after the hose connection that screws into the cylinder head at the rear next to the firewall but with 2 hose connections in the shape of a "V" I believe both these parts come on 280ZX engines, so if you have removed them and fit your original 240/260 stuff, please let me know! Let me know how much and when! Also, if you have a 280ZX alternator, please let me know again! Picture = thousand words so if you have these below......PM me!!! Quote
RB30X Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 I'm pretty sure i'd have them somewhere mate, but I'd say they have a bit of corrosion. ebay had a new bit that bolts to the timing cover with the solid heater pipe (no female thread). I'm currently running the threaded one but with a single hose tail to the back of the block. I also have at least two 280zx alternators. Maybe you can help me out with a wiring diagram and a voltage reg (apparently you need one) and you can have one. I find Pirtek have a lot of fittings like your chasing, maybe try them. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted August 20, 2009 Author Moderators Posted August 20, 2009 Thanks Tim, with the 280 alternators, the volt reg is built in so you have to remove the one from the side of the engine bay. Once you install the alternator, unplug the original volt reg, build a small wire loop that goes from the white wire to the yellow wire. That's what I've done on both of my previous zeds. I have a Enzed near me but if I can find one that's like in the pic, I'd prefer that.. Quote
xa1973 Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 The heater / block parts your after are available from Warren @ Allzed Or REDAT Ebay USA.... Not cheap for what they are...... Quote
Brabham Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 hmmm a bolt in battery tray, why didnt datsun think of that? Quote
Bruce Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 I should have them, as I have just swapped over all the 240 bits onto my 280zx engine. If I can find them, they are yours. I'll check in the garage in the morning and let you know cheers Bruce Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted August 21, 2009 Author Moderators Posted August 21, 2009 hmmm a bolt in battery tray, why didnt datsun think of that? It's a standard thing Rob at the Z Factory does with the battery trays when restoring them. Rather than weld them back in, drill out the spot welds, repair then just bolt the tray back in. Doesn't look as good as new but it's alot easier to clean! Thanks Bruce, if you have them, I'll do your next engine swap for free! hehehe Quote
Bruce Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Dimitri, I found both of the connections, give us a ring when you get a chance, 0411 430251 cheers Bruce Quote
