A few months ago I had recently dropped my girl off to work and was driving home through the Valley in Brisbane. Some bloke popped his head through my window (and scared the shit out of me) while I was waiting at the lights.  He asked if I was a member of this forum and I said no.  So here I am now.  And a hello to him, I didn't catch his name.

I've had my 260z 2+2 for almost 5 years now, after a couple of other Dattos.  It's pretty straight.  I'm a bit of a purist and worked to get it in a somewhat original condition so nothing fancy like I've seen elsewhere here on the forum.  I first spotted it outside a mechanic's garage in North Ipswich and pestered him about it.  But he said it wasn't for sale.  Some weeks later it was still there, and sure enough they wanted to sell it now.  The cost of repairs were a bit much for them. :)  I bought it for $1000 and a few weeks later with some work it was on the road.

I'm having some issues with it but nothing too bad.  It's my daily driver so I'd like to soon get something else and garage this for weekends maybe.  I dearly want to get a manual box, the interior finished and a paintjob.  It's started to bubble and the paint is cracking in some spots.  Costs and the fear of finding hidden rust is holding me back a bit from having a go at it myself.

I know that 260z 2+2 are not the most desired of Zeds, so be light on the insults. :)  I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Mate welcome to the Brisbane Zed community. Nothing wrong with 2+2s. Once you are sitting in the driver's seat whats the difference. In fact depending on the type of driving you do the 2+2 can be a better car to drive. let us know if you can make any of local meets. We are thinking about meeting up at the motorkhana at Willowbank 12th July. A couple of zeds will be competing. The rest will be there to watch, chat and eat snags.

I'm keen on meets anywhere around Bris or Ipswich.  But I just hope noone would ask me to lift the bonnet.  I have an oil leak that has just made a total mess of the engine bay. :P

Welcome, looks like a fairly straight z you have there, would love to see you at the meets.

Nah it's great really to get some comments or conversation, as brief as it was.  Usually people have a look but don't know what it is, and if they do they're asking me if I can drift with it. >:(

Thanks for introducing me to here.  There is loads of good information.
