I thought it might be useful to everyone if we compile a list of wreckers that everyone uses to source their parts from... it will also be good if you include a short description of the business (prices, parts availability, service, etc.)

I personally use Centre Road wreckers - they have a huge selection of cars in general (I like poking around in some random cars - can find interesting parts :D ) and about 7-12 cars with L6 in them (right now a few L28efi and L24efi). Prices are quite high but they can have rare parts so its up to you to decide whether they are worth it; and the entrance is $1. And the service - the worst I have had anywhere in this country - cant tell you what they have in stock, will under no circumstances chage the price of a part (although if you come at some other day they will give you a different price for the same item); generally are very rude and uncooperative.

I also read in some thread about the wreckers in Ringwood/Bayswater area, but dont know their exact address could someone tell me what it is?

Waz @ Zworx on Beach St in Mordiallic (spelling wrong?) is where I go for ALL my Z parts.

I used Centre Road Wreckers when i did up a Cortina and I'll 2nd everything blue_leaf said AND add that theres MASSIVE spiders all over the place, no joy.

Pick-a-Part in Camblefield at the top of Sydney Road isnt too bad at all, picked up a Front 1/4 panel, front bumper, side bumpers, rear side bumpers, a mirror and a bunch of inside parts for a 910 Bluebird for under $200. No-one knew we smashed it.....

If you can get a hold of the www.partslocator.com.au magazine you will find more parts than you can poke a stick at, including L28 Turbo parts, L28 Diesel parts and a decent amount of import cars.

For Imports only, East Keilor Wreckers has one of the biggest ranges i know of, lots of RB Parts, 1JZ, SR's and other little bits and peices.

I use 'Pick Pay and Go' on Heatherdale road - Ringwood, but only because it's so close. Quite small compared to other wreckers, but relatively clean and they supply running water with Solvol and a towel for cleaning up.

Not much of a range for Datsuns, or Nissans for that matter. Usually have a couple of skylines (R31's), pintaras, bluebirds, some 180 and 200Bs and a Y or two. There was a 1200 coupe at the back a while ago, not sure how much of it is left.

I also like strolling through other makes to compare parts.

I've seen 260Z 2+2 and 280zx's at pick a part and pick pay n go from time to time. Most of the cars are stuffed body wise but you can get stuff for a very good price there relative to what you would pay at a Z wrecker. That said, I havent seen one for a while, but there is a Z31 at Kilsyth pick a part at the moment (engine fire)
