Mick280zx Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Hi guys I've been tinkering around in the engine bay for the first time almost (interior has beckoned- constantly!) trying to get zed to run smoother (stumbles on acceleration and backfires :-\) and after having found mismatched spark plugs, checked the resistance of the injectors and high tension wires and had a good stickbeak, finally found the distributor. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what/where the spade terminal on the vacuum controller is meant to go to. I can't find any reference in the FSM. Also, the distributor cap is marked "1" at the terminal where No 6 lead is attached. I hope it's not a stupid question but is it all arse about or something? Quote
maddos Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 Noy sure about the spade connection. Your leads don't really matter where they are fitted as long as they are in the right order. Usually starts with number 1 where you were indicating number one on the cap though. Quote
waxhead Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 The spade terminal on there is an earth You shouldnt need to hook it to anything The dizzy is 180 degrees out It should run fine that way its just been put in with the dizzy turned the wrong way Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted May 31, 2009 Moderators Posted May 31, 2009 If you want to repair the dizzy order, just have to remove your oil pump and re-posi the oil pump/distributor drive shaft. Somebody didn't install it right! Quote
