(Locky) Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 looking at some pics ive seen a few Z's with agressive wheel fitment, but sofar, ive been unable to find wheel/tyre specs on any from what ive read a 8in wide with offset of around 0 seems alright with a chunky tyre on a Z. but what should i be looking in regards to a wider wheel/lower offset with a streched tyre my current s14's fitment is a bit too agressive for a 240 looking to get wheel fitment similar to my old s13 any ideas/specs/links thanks Quote
C.A.R. Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 I must be reading this wrong, but what's is the question your asking? Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted April 28, 2009 Moderators Posted April 28, 2009 I think he's asking what wheel width/size is needed to get the same look as on his Silvia's. Just go by what's fitted on your car now and look for a style that will suit the zed. I had 8" wide wheels with 225 width but they weren't stretched like on your S13. I'd say a 9-9.5 with a 225? Just a guess.. Quote
(Locky) Posted April 28, 2009 Author Posted April 28, 2009 ok... ill try better what width/ offset wheels would i require for a stock body 240z (no flares) to achive similar wheel fitment to the white s13. with the aid of streched tyres ie wheels themselves outside the gurds, then tyres streching inside the gaurds i think that makes more sense Quote

Just a guess.. yeah pretty much what im asking from what ive read, a low ofset is required anyway (ie say a 8+4) for the gaurd to looked "filled" but its not giving the agressive look with the addition of streched tyres im guessing around a 9+0 would be needed anyone have any links/ experience with this on a Z Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted April 28, 2009 Moderators Posted April 28, 2009 I'll be trying a 17x8.5" wheel and possibly a 215 45 tyre soon...If its in time I'll post up pics for you..And I will have stock arches and springs... Quote
(Locky) Posted April 28, 2009 Author Posted April 28, 2009 that would be good to see what offset are the 8.5's well as an example on the s13 i was running a 215/45/17 on my 9's and 235/45 on the 10's and my s14 is running a 225/45 semi slick on a 9.5 and a cheap 215/45 on the rear again on a 9.5 im probebly going to be looking for a 15/16 in rim, and dont want to go to the trouble of getting a set sent from japan to be dissapointed (and the fact small low offset meshies go for alot in japan because all the 86' guys want them) Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted April 28, 2009 Moderators Posted April 28, 2009 Have a look at the Rota's RB-R Benzed sells on the forum...I bought a set of the 17's...see if you like the style...made in 15 and 16 as well.. Quote

(Locky) Posted April 28, 2009 Author Posted April 28, 2009 im thnking something like this 15x9-14 on the front 15x9.5-6 on rear but dont know how they would sit on a 240 or F15 × 7.5J (minus 6) R15 × 8.5J (minus 19). but there too skinny to run a streched tyre on Quote
620Z Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 You will only get a 9" rim under a Zed with stock wheel arch's if you have the narrower coil overs fitted. My rims a 17x9" and fit perfect with the correct offset with no rubbing. But I do have the coil over spring set up. Quote
PZG302 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 I'm a bit worried about the size of tyres you want to run. A 215 tyre should be on a 8.5 inch rim maximum and a 235 should be on a maximum width of 9 inch. A stretch tyre might look good to some, but I wouldn't want to be driving hard on it as the sidewall of the tyre can't do it's job. For a good rim on the z with standard strut setup and 8 inch rim with any width tyre from a 205 to a 245 would be good. The final width would be dependant on the final rim size for diameter and also the tyre brand you choose and the avialbility of sizes in that tyre. Quote
(Locky) Posted April 29, 2009 Author Posted April 29, 2009 ive done everything from daily driving to track days on streached tyres havent had a problem Quote
