Ben Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Ben, I sent a web enquiry last week, but need to know how much X-factor these wheels have. I am having clearance issues with the 4-runner callipers. The Grids look pretty good in that regard, but I need conclusive info before I can buy anything!
BenZed Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 They have plenty of caliper clearance unless your calipers sit too close to the hub. As an example, an S13 with S14 brakes won't clear, but with larger GT-R size discs they will.
chartoo Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Hello Ben couple of questions. Ive bought the 17x9 and 17x 9.5 Rotos off you a while back. Where can i buy some nuts to suit and what size tyres would you recommned? I have kings lowered springs if it makes a diffrence.
RB30X Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Hello Ben couple of questions. Ive bought the 17x9 and 17x 9.5 Rotos off you a while back. Love to see a pic of those bad boys fitted. You have flares obviously???
chartoo Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Flares? Yep got a set of ZG's or a set of Msa street flares ready to go.

I need 15mm to clear the S12W callipers.
BenZed Posted November 24, 2009 Author Posted November 24, 2009 Same problem I'm afraid. The clearance at 25mm is zero, but at 40mm out there is 50mm. In other words if your discs were one inch bigger you could fit anything.

If it was me I would run a 215/45 front and 235/40 rear, but you may not want stretched tyres.
Moderators Zedman240® Posted November 24, 2009 Moderators Posted November 24, 2009 We have forged aluminium wheel nuts to suit for $4.50 each. Ben, would those aluminium wheel nuts fit Performance brand wheels also? I assume they are M12x1.25 pitch? thanks

BenZed Posted November 26, 2009 Author Posted November 26, 2009 How about the RB family? Any luck there? 17x7.5 +4 and 17x8.5 +4 RB are good for brake clearance. 16x7 is good too, but 16x8 not so good.
Ben Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Cheers, the images on your site seem to indicate as you have said. Can you double check the measurements on the 16x7 +4. I would probably get 2x 16"x7"+4 and 2x 16"x8"+4 (assuming the 8" will fit under non-flared rear guards)
stevo_gj Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 My 17x7.5 Rota RBs arrived the day after I gave my credit card details and they look mint. I'll post a picture or two showing the fitment when I get them on the car. Thanks again to Ben and Grant. Steve
RB30X Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 yes lots of pics please. what rubber did you go for.
stevo_gj Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I am probably going with a set of Neuton NT5000 tyres in 215/45/17, they are costing me $145 per corner.
zr240 Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Here is a pic of my car with the 9 inch fronts and 9.5 inch rears. They were not meant for this car as I have another I am building but after I put them on I don't want to take them off! Hopefully Ben will get some more of the 9 and 9.5 for my other car Ash
RB30X Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Hopefully Ben will get some more of the 9 and 9.5 for my other car I hope he gets some in soon too
stevo_gj Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Thanks Ben, the wheels look great. I don't have any better pics atm but when I do I will put a link here to them. These wheels are 17x7.5s running 205x45 tyres on a 260z with stock suspension and untouched guards.
BenZed Posted January 11, 2010 Author Posted January 11, 2010 Thanks Steve. They are a nice fit at that ride height
modular9 Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 if only the offset was right. :'( :'( On a separate -related note. Can you bring in any rota wheels ?
BenZed Posted February 5, 2010 Author Posted February 5, 2010 if only the offset was right. :'( :'( On a separate -related note. Can you bring in any rota wheels ? Offset is good at the rear, at the front you need only a 3mm spacer or nothing with coilovers. The wheel actually clears at the front without a spacer but unless your tyres are very stretched they may foul the spring seat. No I don't do one-off orders because Rota take forever to do them.
modular9 Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 no worries on the one off orders then. I think it is against the law in qld to run spacers. Still I hope someone takes you up on the awesome offer. I wouldnt be bothered with putting coilovers on a bus to get them to fit.
BenZed Posted March 1, 2010 Author Posted March 1, 2010 We just received new stock of 17x9 -13 and 17x9.5 -19 wheels (about two months later than expected). If you want them please hurry as they will be out of stock again very soon! Contact Otomoto on 02 8677 4890.
