sexual_sushi Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 I have just done the s14 gearbox conversion, had it back in for a week and worked fine excepet for an oil leak. Pulled it out, fixed it back up and put it back in. Now the clutch doesn't seem to engage properly. There is a little bit of soft travel in the pedal until about 3/4 in and if I stamp it on the floor i can get it into gear. I have bled the system about 4 times and it's still like this. Does anyone else know what could cause this? Only thing i can think is the master cylinder? But there are no leaks out of the master or slave cylinder. I think I'll take it into a shop soon... Quote
C.A.R. Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 Get someone to depress the pedal while you look at the Slave. If the slave is moving a bit & looks ok, renew the MC. If that doesnt cure it, try the slave next. Was it a nice consistant flow of fluid when you bled the system? Quote
sexual_sushi Posted March 31, 2009 Author Posted March 31, 2009 it seemed to be a consitent flow. slave is moving a bit, how hard should it be to manually push the lever for the throwout bearing with your hand? i imagine it should be quite hard but thought for a second that maybe the fork/bearing wasn't mopunted properly but im sure it is Quote
