I'm sick of worrying about driving in the rain

After not running and being caught in the rain for the past week I've got a few flecks of surface rust starting to come through.  What's the procedure in dealing with this issue?

Sand, Rust convert it, then repaint.

drive really really fast dodging the rain. If you ever see a fat man driving a red 2+2 erratically on the roads of brisbane that is me doing exactly that.
