kalium Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Yes I know I should have marked them when I took them off...but that was a long time ago Actually first of all, what's the thing next to the elctric lift pump? Is it a dampener or something? I don't have it connected and my system still works (I have EFI). None of the wiring schematics ahve the fuel pump wires on there. I have my tank unit wires hooked up, and my fuel pump wires hooked up as well, but I also have a Y/G and G. I just assume these are for the pre mentioned thing next to the fuel pump. I would like to know for sure though... Cheers Ray Quote
crowe Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Its a fuel cut solenoid which is wired in with the relays under the driver seat. From memory it has something to do with the amount of fuel that is pumped through for emisssion control in conjunction with the relays under the seat, they link in with engine temp sensor and it all has something to do with cold starts and emission control. Leave them disconnected and isulated and you wont have any issues, same goes for the relays under the drivers seat. Hope that helps Quote
xa1973 Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 It prevents shudder from the pumped fuel ( hitting the injectors on EFI or lag / surge on Carby models), giving smooth constant fuel pressure all the time Id refit it Cheers Quote
mtopxsecret6 Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 its a fuel supply dampner.. as xa1973 above said. Quote
2+2er Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 On my 2+2 its a bypass solanoid. From what i can see on the AU wiring diagram, it is the AU version of the interlock system that activates when the engine stops turning over in the event of a crash to stop fuel in case it fuels a fire. it gets power from the ignition key position (green wire) and the earth (Yellow and Green) comes from the water temp relay and the alternator relay in series. If both relays are activated, the bypass solenoid is activated (earthed) and fuel from the pump output is directed straight back to the tank. Quote
