705hp r33 Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 hi guys, my name is brad, i have recently finished my r33 project of 3 years, and have reached the power i wanted . however after paying a fortune in fuel, tunes, parts etc, im interested in a z as a new project/daily. i have read up a bit and have the basic understanding of the 260z and 280z. in your opinion what are the pro;s and con's of these cars. basically i want to restore the car, and keep it stock and in prestine condition, they are beautiful cars, so why ruin it with dis-tasteful modifications . also are there any problems with the fabled l28 engine? thanks brad Quote
Toecutter Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Hi Brad, Welcome. I'm tipping most likely your after a 240z or a 260z. The 280z only came out in the US, we got the 280zx 2+2 which is a different car, body series S130 vs the older shape S30. L28's are commonly installed in the older 240's and 260's. Alot of people myself included pull all the efi equipment and run the older SU's or tipple carbs. Theres plenty of info in the forums here and lot of people ready to help so enjoy your reading...
