Learner Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Hey guys, i am looking at buying a 260 or 240 in the coming weeks and was wondering if either had power steering. I really dont know when power steering really came out.. Just i think it would be alot easyier for city use at the moment... But if not how hard would it be to fit one from a newer 180sx or 350z ?? Zed Brothers Inc Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Hi 240z and 260 didn't come out with Power steering The 280zx came out with power steering. Dont know how you would go about fitting a 280zx steering configuration into a 240/260? Quote
PZG302 Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 I find power steering is not needed in the zeds and are fine for city driving. My first 260Z coupe was an ex rally car so the wheel alignment was more for competition use than road and found it not heavy at all. You really just need to keep the tyre pressures up and you shopuldn't have a problem with steering weight. I should however point out that before the Z I drove old falcons and Valiants without power steering, and learnt to drive in a G60 Patrol, so anything like a Zed would have light steering Quote
Hunter Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Just eat ya Weetbix in the morning and you will be right. The steering is not too heavy in zed cars, You will find you have no need for power steering once you are rolling. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted October 19, 2008 Moderators Posted October 19, 2008 My zed has "Armstrong" power steering. Just go to any gym for installation! Takes a few weeks though.. Quote
Learner Posted October 19, 2008 Author Posted October 19, 2008 HAHAHAHAHA, nice one..!! Yeah thanks, i just watched some youtube videos and they look so easy and smooth to steer. Just thought they might have but they must be light to be handling like that.. Thank you... Had a fight with my dad about some personal issues so he isnt keen at the moment. Let him have a good night sleep and ask him in the morning..!! Thank you!!! Quote
