This video blew me away. It's exactly what I want to build one day as my own car computer.

 

It starts off slowly, but when he gets onto the actual computer and its voice software it is just astounding.

looks nice enough, if only windows was stable? hehe, but the sad thing is now its nothing that an iphone can't do? except for the amount of storage, and i am not aware of any decent voice recognition stuff for it yet...i'm not to sure about having a display to talk to the people behind, although at one stage my mate with a crx really wanted to do this, and they do have a window thats perfect for it.

where on earth would you get that kind of a set up (the MR2 one)  not that I would try to use it, but would be very handy to find out about.

I use a MIO A701 as my in car computer. It has GPS, Camera, Windows Mobile, MP3, Phone, 4GB memory etc.

This is all connected to the stereo with an FM Transmitter.

The Mio GPS software also has speed cameras, red light cameras and school zones etc.

You can also find a particular store and choose to go to it or ring them.

I use a program called GPS Performance automatic Acceleration Timings, Distance Timings and Lap Timings, it even draws a map of the track you are on.
