Andrew_L26 Posted July 19, 2021 Posted July 19, 2021 Hi all, I've been working on my zed for many years and I have finally decided to outsource the final bit of work to a workshop/individual. Unfortunantly I don't have the time or motivation to finish it off and would rather just drop the cash to get it done. She is currently in bare metal with the floor pans all sorted (car has been on a rotisserie & sandblasted inside and out, doglegs, lower rear 1/4s all repaired. The doors have also been repaired however they had been absolutly caved in and warped badly, I did spend a lot of time straigtning them out but they still need work, some of the rust repairs are a bit hows it going too. The hatch is about as good as they come, one minor ding on the outside, hardly any rust showing through but a bit of the flaky stuff on the inside. There are some areas that will probably need to be redone/touched up. The rear roof frame has been completly replaced however the hatch alignment needs work with some shims etc. to get it to align perfectly. I am hoping to keep the cost of the work under 15k, I am just wanting to get the body painted and returned to me on a stand (the same way it was delivered but just painted) I'm not after a concourse resto but I also don't want something that I look at and can see sanding scratches under the paint, low spots etc. The guards are fiberglass which have been gapped (roughly) amd repaired. I plan on purchasing either a composite bonnet or a repro one as my current one is full of bog and I don't even want to deal with it, plus I want to keep it for my wall! I have attached some photos of the state of the car as it is at the moment. Not wanting for people to shit on the repairs I have done over the years either, I understand that some will need to be redone but you do have to remember that this was a 3500$ car when I got it and I was just a broke teenager trying my best. The worst of the repairs are up under the dash, the back of the roof is slightly warped, mostly from a previous repair attempt by the previous owner. I would also like to work with a workshop/panel beater if possible, helping out where needed. Ponyo240z 1 Quote
