crowe Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Hi all, 5 years since the start of restoration and the old 260 finally breathes some life.....but have a few problems. When using webers does anyone still use the standard vaccuum advance? I have been told to get my dizzy re-weighted and remove the vacuum advance when running webers. Can anyone verify this or comment on your own setups? Also fuel pressure, I am running the standard electric 260z pump through the standard rail but have a feeling there is too much fuel pressure as after a while of idling i get fuel dripping back out the trumpets on all carbies, this leads me to believe too much pressure? Anyone recommend a good (handheld) fuel pressure gauge to check? Do others out there use these inline fuel pressure regulators, any good? Thanks, Callum Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted July 15, 2008 Moderators Posted July 15, 2008 I used the standard electric fuel pump with the Dellorto's but used the original fuel rail with the return for the Hitatchi's. Never gave me any issues. Quote
ZED660 Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Callum, You may want to check out this site and in particular the link about fuel pumps. Basically, they indicate that for Webers you need high volume but relatively low psi (about 4). I took their advise and fitted the Carter 4070 with my triple 45's and no regulator and everything has worked well with no problems after 3 years. I am using the standard Z fuel rail. You will also find some other tuning info regarding spark, etc. I don't have the vacuum connected and run a standard 280 electronic distributor. http://www.racetep.com/webfuelspark.html#webfuel Quote
