Also there a some R200 Long nose LSD's for sale on www.ozdat.com/forum/ but they arent cheap.

When you say arn't cheap what kind of price range are you talking about?

I'd expect to pay anywhere from $900 - $1500 depending on the condition especially if it's a clutch type LSD, not a viscous fan myself.

When i say not cheap, i mean $1000 minimum. Actually i haven't seen one for less than about $1200 for a clutch pack one.

....except for the one I bought that was alot less than $1000 8)

There was also a R180 LSD on there in the classifieds section. Dont know if it ever sold though.

Sco_aus what diff was that?! you've mentioned R33, does it mean that the diffs from those models will also fit?

cheers, Vlad

Provided you are prepared to go to viscous LSD or can find an aftermarket non viscous LSD with the correct spline count then yes. But make sure that someone who knows what they are doing with diffs installs it due to the centre having to be properly aligned.

are diffs in 260Z and R33 both R200? are they the same inside?

sorry, i dont really know much about diffs.

cheers, Vlad

only early r33 has 29 spline i found out that s2 & s3 have 31 splines(as i suspected), but YES essentially the Differential unit (the pumpkin in the middle is the same, different features lets say, but ARE interchangeable) housings of course change ie long & short nose

yes the centres not the whole housing etc is swapable, must be instaled with either the shims from the donor diff or like scoaus said get a diff specialist to install, to mantain the corect lash and alignment of the gears mesh.

will need sleeves x 10 of (ie 10 bolt diff) cause the holes in the later centre are a lil big diff place will do them too if you cant get them yourself but you will PAY for them. from memory dimensions were 13.2 OD x 11mm long and ID = 10.4 *(10.2-10.6 my bolts measured odd huh! old richety lathe gave better results!!!)

What you are looking for is an Aftermarket diff centre which is a Kaaz, cusco, OS giken, Nismo quaife etc etc, which are MECHANICAL, not Viscous (fluid coupling, less effective, lacks response) For an s13,14,15 or r32,33 300zx z31 & early z32 and NA (but be careful check before you buy as they went to bigger internals shortly after z32 introduced).

I think i have nearly done a full write up in another post. If anyone knows the link please feel free to chip in here, "r33 LSD & CV shafts"????

cheers nato.
