Hey guys,

I've had to bite the bullet, when i bought the LSd I didn't fully understand how a 2 way worked. Right now I want to see if anyone would be interested in this LSD, which is still in my car at the moment. Thinking of getting a mechanical locker of some kind which is 1.5 way. It is a little harsh for my liking, but works superbly locking up both wheels with little acceleration(can hear inside wheel "slipping" around almost every corner). Im about to try a RT mount to try quieten down it's movement. It was run in correctly (half hour of doing figure 8's in a car park must have looked wierd to people driving past. was very tiring). Upon finishing the run in procedure we dropped the oil and refilled. 5000km after that I dropped the oil again, which looked new. The oil that came out after the run in was very metalic, but after woods the diff was very quiet. This would suit a person who drives thier car on the limit, or who can put up with the spool like locking(parking is noisy :D).

adjust the pre-load on the centre, may make it behave a lil more to ur liking.

the 2-way vs the 1.5 way in accel should be the same as the xx-way is how the diff locks up under accel as compared to decell

1 way is accel only

1.5 is full under accel but only about 30-60% of lockup under decell (ie down change/engine brake'n)

2 way is same lockup under decell and accell

the pre-load of the centre is what it sounds like your not happy with, ie the initial amount of lsd action, under easy going driving.

the 1.5 will be the same as what you are experiencing, but less lockup when you drop down a gear and try to comp lock-slideinto a corner, ie like a small handbrakee' more so with te 2 way, les with the 1.5 and none with the 1 way.(not none but up to the amount of initial preload anyways).

this is all based on the ramp angle which adds more LSD the more torque/resistance to input and output.

i have a temei 2 way in my Z, i went for the 2 way A because it was a bargain and B im running an auto so decell is not really a problem as comp locking is not really good for the autos to say the least.

Stay with the 2 way for a while, you WILL notice it settle down once it wears a bit more, the bed in procedure is only to make sure the friction surfaces wear in evenly like brake pads. not to wear it in to where it will stay.

You wouldn't know how to adjust it by any chance, I had a quick search on Google but nothing really spoke about actually going about adjustment. Basically, I believe the KAAZ was the cause my my grenading of 2nd gear via down shifting coming into a turn. Power down in 2nd is unaffected, however, when trying to "engine brake" the gearbox now pops out of gear. I'm in the process of converting to a rb25 gearbox, and I don't really want to break one of those, as it's run me close to 3k so far and i haven't even got it in yet. The RT mount going in might help a little limiting movement of the diff. But it's true that I don't need such a harsh engagement with very little torque differential, after all, my car is daily driven. I might contact the person I bought the KAAZ off of and see if they have instructions on this subject. Thanks for your input nat0.

I've got a Kaaz in my Typhoon and from what I've been led to believe they are non-adjustable, the Quaife centres however are adjustable if you are after something you can adjust to your liking.

As for changing gears mid corner you shouldn't really be doing this anyway a compression lock in a fast corner could spell disaster, could it have maybe been the box was NQR as well which may have contributed to the problem you now have??
