chris240 Posted May 31, 2008 Posted May 31, 2008 I swaped the guts from a km/h speedo into my Mp/hr speedo casing , all went fairly well, hooked up speedo cable, managed to tighten the wing nuts after a 15 minute struggle, and took it for a drive. The speedo worked until I got to the bottom of the street, then seemed to die when a took off from a stop sign...any thoughts ? could there be an incompatibilty problem ? The speedo mechanicals from 240 & 260z speedos look identical. got me stumped. Quote

From memory it takes quite a few turns to tighten it up. Also rosco is right; check and make sure your cable hasn't broken. I was driving one day and my speedo just dropped from 60-0 in less than a second....When it came time to check, I had a two piece cable... Quote
chris240 Posted May 31, 2008 Author Posted May 31, 2008 thanks , i'll check the cable hasnt snapped. Yeah it did take a few turns, but Im sure I screwed it on properly. I also lost power to the 2 small 3 watt globes that iluminate the speedo...the high beam & red stop light where ok... great , another day with my head under the dash. my back is killing me !! Quote
