40Mm Solex Carbs

Went looking thru the shed for a manifold and came across these instead. Up for sale are 5 T-Type Solex carbs. There is one pair that I've had for at least 25 years, another pair that have been in an engine bay fire and a single carb that I've acquired and forgotten about.

 

The pair that have been in the fire are missing a few bits and pieces (some venturi's and jets) and really are only useful for spare parts.

 

The other three are complete (as far as I can see) and are matching - one is part # 21100-88254, other two are 21100-88255. "54" and "55" are left and right when used on a 4 cylinder, the 3rd carb is another "left". Only difference I can see are linkages.

 

After $500 for the lot. These will need restoration, don't expect to bolt them on and go. Get in quick, I'm a hopeless hoarder and am likely to change my mind and stick them back in the cupboard

If you'll sell a single Type T (any) cheap, let me know? These can be converted to Type R.. (just need to change cover and other bits)

and I have 2 Type R's that need a third to make a complete set.

 

However a pair and triplets would sell better than a triplet and single.. so no big deal if you wish to sell complete or the lot.

 

Good price, for those inclined to rebuild them. I am starting to really like these side draught carbs and have a collection now.

If I don't get any bites for the lot, I'll sell off the two that have been in an engine bay fire very cheap. Apart from needing a good clean to get rid off soot, etc, I've raided one for parts to make the "odd" one in the set of three complete (venturi and jets).

 

Give it a few days and see what happens.
