SGR65 Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 I'm looking at sending a set for struts away to either MCA or Suspension Concepts for coilovers in my 260. Recently, a friend of mine replaced his standard struts for coilovers in his 240. The idea was I'd send the 240 struts off to save me leaving my car on stands for weeks until I get the coilovers back. Now. my understanding is that there's a different in the tide diameter of the rear struts. However, the mounting point between the rear arm and strut bottom is the same. Will this idea work? Any difference/benefits running the larger diameter tubes? Thanks in advance. Stephen. Quote
KatoKid Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 I sent 240Z fronts and 260Z rears to MCA, as far as they are concerned there is no difference as they just machine up different diameter bottom tubes as required to be welded to the original tubes. Quote
Marty B Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 I have 51mm struts on the front and 55 on the rear and I just bought BC coilovers and the bottom sleeve is 51mm all round! Can I just machine out the sleeve to 55mm or will it be to thin? Or is there another option? Quote
Mike260LW Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 There are more damper options available in the 55mm dia. than the 51mm. Quote
