elcarter Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Just embarking on a L26 Rebuild. Have seen some pistons rings and other parts mentioned in some threads. If you have some spare laying around I'm very interested before I buy new. Located in Adelaide but happy to ship if need be. In particular need for; the external cooling rigid lines. Mine have well been cut and shut with heater hose. Mild Cam + chain Pistons Probably flat. Valves. Quote
dat2kman Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Cam chain, reasonable ( very little wear) guides, and cam sprocket, have got a few of, I can supply a cam, if you want to give it a bit of a liven up, you'd need to discuss your engine specs and intentions with a camshaft grinder, dont knw f any in SA, but Clive Cams in Melbourne is excellent! I can also supply intake and exhaust valves, in good condition, but, as in any head recondition, it is advisable to lap the seats in. The rigid external heater line running from block water inlet, back to firewall, I have a couple of those Happy to put together a package and freight off to you. Send me a PM Quote
elcarter Posted August 9, 2016 Author Posted August 9, 2016 Hey dat, Thanks for the offer. The parts I pulled out of the L26 were in good condition so I was really only after new or performance upgrades. Some items may end up back in. That said the if the heater lines are in good condition I'm interested otherwise I think I might fabricate it. I have just dropped the engine to the re-conditioner and I will see what they recommend regarding the cam and what parts I should source. The one original one I have may not be ideal for the intended end result. I'm very much after flat top pistons. The bores were measured at the standard 83 so will be looking to go the next size up.
