ichigo-260Z Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Hi, Just hoping to get some clarification from someone who is more familiar with 260Z's than I. I am looking to purchase a 1977 260Z from a seller in Melbourne. However, the documentation indicates the engine number begins with "C26xxxxx" (i.e. The rego papers and the PPSR check) Can I assume this is an error and should be L26? Cheers. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted April 17, 2016 Administrators Posted April 17, 2016 I would imagine so yes, why don't you ask the seller for photos of the engine number in the engine bay to confirm? Quote
ichigo-260Z Posted April 17, 2016 Author Posted April 17, 2016 Thank you. Just checking there wasn't a change in the numbering system in later models. Quote
GongZ Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 (edited) It wouldn't be too hard to get this wrong. The font used for the 'L' stamped/engraved onto the block looks a like a cross between an 'L' and a 'C'. (L24 pic used - but font is the same) Edited April 20, 2016 by GongZ George 1 Quote
