have been quoted $500 , although that it includes painting the panel also

the guy also said that he can't get the datsun type coating off and that i'd have to do it

any ideas?

$500 is absurd, you can get a reproduction item cheaper than that.

Although they did quote me $160 AU to do tail light trims...So don't expect mega savings.

 

I think it would be worth asking if you can get a better price for doing a bunch of items, heater vents, radio surround, tail lights, badges etc.. Surely they could do a good price on all those items at once.

it was some guy doing plating for old holdens

i got the all vents from zcardepot brand new for $50 US

has anyone painted the heater console them and if what paint did they use? do you just do it with a small brush? it looks awfully fiddly

the reproductions ones i've seen were all black
