Hi all, trying to work out where the white-black wire coming out base of the indicator switch/stalk goes. Ive looked at all the google images but cant still work it out!

In the photo its the black wire with no plug on the end of it.

Thanks, Cuong

From memory it plugs into the wiper / headlight switch assembly. There should be another bullet type plug on the other side.

Hi Dimitri, thanks for your reply. I think this stalk must have been swapped over at some stage and might be off i am guessing a later 240z, maybe a 73 model or something because at the end of the stalk bit it has a button that pushes in, i am assuming to flash the high beams maybe?

I took a look at two other early 240z that i have and they dont have that wire or the button at the end of the stalk either. So i think ive work it out!

And you are right, there is a bullet plug that plugs into the headlight switch,  that is the other black bullet plug that you can see in the above photo.

I'm thinking you might have a retro-fitted 260Z switch, my early 260 has the flasher button although not all 260s did.

And I didn't think the 240 did.

Pretty sure its just an earth for the stalk.

Just did the plugs on my set that came out of a Fairlady Z-L and it was labelled as an earth.

Should have a spade connector on the end

I think you are right,  i noticed that the wires from the two white plugs were pushed out at some stage and reconnected  to the plug. Now that i think about it it was probably a 260z part a previous owner changed the plug to suit the 240z harness.

I have a few spares so ill fit a 240z one back on.

Thanks everyone!
