L28 Turbo N42 head with a Naps computer system

Hi i have started the long rd to ground up resto 260z 2 seater, and before i complete the body iam looking at everything to see if extra brackets or body modification is required for the motor and intercoolers.

the motor is a  L28  that i have in a car for a parts donor.

I have little to no experience or knowledge regarding this particular motor, all i know is that the previous owner spent a lot of money on the motor as young people do ,had it 3weeks and lost his licence for 3 years doing 240 in a 80 zone.

he parked the car and never went back to it about 12 years ago as you can tell it has been sitting in the weather fortunately not coastal.

However the motor turns but have not attempted a start up as sitting around for such a long time need to look at the turbo and stick an inspection camera in the pots to see how bad, and wiring and pipe work well thats a whole different story.

I was looking for anyone that can give me some information about the motor and what its ability in the power range is and in particular the Naps computer system , the previous owner had put a Micro tech series 2 ECU unit on it however as mentioned before the wiring leaves a lot to be desired.

I have read your post 4 times and I still don't understand what your asking?

Power potential of a l28 turbo is 150rwhp to about 800rwhp for one or 2 laps.

All this kind of information is very easy to find my searching. But once again not really sure what your asking.

Sitting that long?

You will need to strip it down, it will need bearings, the bores flexhoned, new rings, seals gaskets, valve springs, possibly valves.

Not that difficult to do.

Then you will see just what the previous owner meant by " big dollars spent"!

 

Do you have a turbo exh setup already?

If not, forget using the L20A setup, you'll need the proper ex USA L28 setup.

NAPS was just an acronym for better polution control system to keep the USA Feds happy.

Depending on what Microtech, it could be used to run a turbo motor.

Easiest intake setup will be from any injected L28, not a L20A ( tiny port runners on intake and exhaust)
