ultrasuede Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 I'm having a bad Z day. My CV joints on my rear left snapped off, I thought "ill just jump on ebay and grab a couple of driveshafts and be back on the road next week!" No such luck. I knew finding parts for my classic investment would be hard, but I didn't think it would be this hard. I need advice, is there a conversion I can do from a 300zx or something? How hard would it be for a non mechanical person to do? (Me) any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers! Quote
C.A.R. Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 CV or UJ? Post a photo so we know what you are on about, please. Quote
nizm0zed Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Might be easier to buy a uni joint and repair what you already have? Quote
C.A.R. Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Bah, tis any easy fix. Jack it up & place it on Axle stands, get 2, 14mm spanners & unbolt it from the car. Then replace it with a new R-series Hardi Spicer Universal Joint. Quote
ultrasuede Posted May 24, 2015 Author Posted May 24, 2015 Cheers! I just picked one up from repco. Going to be a pain to get the old joint out, but I can think of worse ways to spend a sunday afternoon. Thanks guys! Quote
