dat2kman Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Chasing the cardan shaft ( fixed unversal joint at bottom where it clamps onto rack) The top is a fine spline on end of shaft. There were two versions, Up to july 1073 And from August 1973. Heres my problem, i dont know whoch one i need! ( custom application) If you have one, can you measure its o/all length and post up, and what month/year is car Possibly 2+2's could be a third variant? Brisbane area. Quote
PeterAllen Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 ... Up to july 1073 And from August 1973. ... I don't think you will find any from 1073 - they were all destroyed at the Battle of Hastings, seven years earlier! Here is mine - 3/72 = 530mm Quote
dat2kman Posted March 8, 2015 Author Posted March 8, 2015 Thanks Peter. Turns out what I have is a Z shaft that has been cut down to 385mm o/all length and replined, with a milled flat for the bolt. I can se eother version pf the shafts. Anyone wrcking/parting out, r have bits of steering from Z Hit ke up. Brisbane for lcal pickup, can bring tools to remove. Quote
zcar63 Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Hi Jason Might know a bloke who has one. Cheers David Quote
dat2kman Posted March 8, 2015 Author Posted March 8, 2015 Thanks David. I am going to be shortening it to reqd length and resplineing it, can cut and shut mine to another for ni, or if his is good splines, will cut/shut that. My spline end is twisted apprpx 45 degrees and bent approx 20 deg, due to hitting a dirt embankment. F it gets finished/put back together in time, hopefully, it'll be going up to DatNats,,, Quote
PZG302 Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 The steering should be in my old shell still that Patch has down the coast of you have no other luck. Quote
dat2kman Posted March 9, 2015 Author Posted March 9, 2015 Tried Paul at Ippy, no answer, he's prob away doing scientific herpetology work, out in the bush. Looking for any of the various versions ( 3 off them?) from any Z, rather Brosbane local, as ot's a bot pf a hassle to arrange chauffer's time Quote
