Sorry guys if all this has been asked before.

I tried to find out info with a search

So firstly I have a fairly stock fuel injected L28 running stock ecu.

I'm having a new exhaust fitted next week.

Extractors 2.25" mandrel bent high flow muffler and hotdog?

Is this still considered the ideal combo?

Secondly, do I need an oxygen sensor attached to extractors?

The current set up doesn't have one at all but

Lately the zed has been running very rough and occasionally stalling when sitting traffic.

It also has a major miss at around 5000rpm but only really after a bit of driving or sitting in traffic?

So basically I want you guys to give me all the answers so please fire away

if its running a factory computer, they do not use them, it sounds as though you have a air leak or your air flow meter is giving you grief. as for the exhaust I had 2.5 inch and it was good, for fairly stock 2.25 inch would be fine

That's good to know about the oxy sensor.

I want the car louder than it is now (2" system)

But still ok on the highway and was thinking about 2.5" but the exhaust guys reckon it'll be annoying.

So how about we do a vote 2.25 or 2.5?

Remember it's a street car not track.

As far as running rough goes, fuel filter was changed a few months back though that doesn't mean it hasn't picked up some crap low in the tank I guess.

How do I check fuel pressure?

Where do I start looking for air leaks?

How do I check AFM or do I clean the hell out of it?

If you are getting a new exhaust, why not put a plug in for an oxygen sensor. It is handy if you get an O2 sensor and put it in the dash for tuning purposes even if it is only temporary. You can always put a bung in it when not in use.

That's what I did anyway.

 

I vote for a 2.5" system, I don't think it will be too loud with a muffler and resonator.

Well thanks for the advice guys.

Today I replaced the fuel filter and completely pulled apart the MAF sensor and cleaned it up nicely. Put it back together and now the zed revs freely and is going great so reckon the MAF was the problem as it was fairly dirty but also it had a Ryco z200 filter when it should have a z202 so maybe that contributed.

As far as exhaust goes I'm still not sure on 2.25 or 2.5 so I need more opinions please.
