Hi all,

Just thought I should do the official greeting thing.

 

You guys have put together an amazing website. I loose hours reading through the past posts.

 

I am the newest owner of a 260 2+2. I recently saved her from a wrecking yard in Vic.

I have previously owned a nice 240 (early model with twin chokes) but had to sell her due to a family problem - that being that I was having one. The young tacker is old enough now that he can help work on the car and keep a little interest.

 

The plan for the new beast is a [glow=red,2,300]VG30DETT[/glow] and a few nice little comfort mods. I will post some piks as improvements are made.

welcome to Zedland..where are you located ?

sometimes I wish I bought a 2+2 so I can take my wife & 3 year old along..looks like youve got a bit of job to do...is it somewhat driveable ?

G'day Chris,

I am from Penrith (Western Sydney). I drove down to Geelong with a mate. What a nightmare trip.

 

The old girl has no motor, just a gearbox and extractors. also missing a few little bits and pieces such as a bent grill and broken badges.

 

She was a good looking red zed, but the last owner decided they wanted a smooth look and has covered half the car in bog - even over good metal.

 

If nothing else, it will keep me out of trouble ... I bought the 2+2 for exactly that reason - a compromise between the (arguably) sportier 240 and a family sedan.

Oh Gee thanks It makes it all worthwhile when people compliment the hard work it takes to build such a site. Of course its the community that also makes this place great.

I'm always looking for ways to improve the site so feedback is appreciated.

 

By the way it looks like you have alot of work ahead of you with the 2+2 but a VG sounds like a good motor and others have done the swap before. I know of a champagne gold Z with a VG or VQ engine, not sure where it is now.

 

I used to own a white 2+2 many years ago. Still love that car, it went to Z heaven.

Good luck with your new Z, at least you are closer to allZparts than most of us Victorians. So you picked her up in Geelong? I just missed out on a 260 from a wrecker in Benalla, so I thought you were going to say benalla not Geelong.

That's strange. What time zone have you selected in your user profile? Is the time showing at the top of the forum correct? I can't tell as I'm in Ireland.
