badge type - metal plastic

Hi Guys,

 

I'm a bit of a chump at the moment when it comes to Zeds!

 

I've got a 1973 240 with no external badges, other than the pillars.

 

I have been looing for replacements and some are listed as NOS / OEM,  but plastic.

 

The originals on the car would have been metal, right?

 

Also any one who may want to sell some, let me know.

Early 240z badges were metal, later (about 71 ish) onward were all plastic. Your car would have had plastic.

 

The newer replacement ones for early 240z's available from Nissan were plastic (so even the 1/4 badge on early 240z's comes in plastic) when the originals would have been metal.

 

The only way to get metal ones is to find them second hand. Hence the high asking price for metal ones.

 

What are you looking to spend on an entire badge kit? Do you want new or second hand etc..?

You can buy new metal badges online, and they are genuine Nissan parts, but I think it is a case of all the stock available was purchased by stores to sell. Nissan list a lot of badges as obsolete.
