phillay Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 hey guys, just sorting the last bits of my wiring. I found 2 relays in the driver side footwell of my car, one has 2 sets of pins (6 and 4) and the other is 3 pin. I've googled them and it identified them as a horn relay and a intermitetnt wiper relay. I am going to fit new horns as the ones on the car are missing, I might as well put in a new relay/fuse while I am at it. so my question is does that wiper relay have another function other than enabling the intermittent setting of the wiper? I currently my wiper motor works when I have it on lo and hi, int doesn't do anything (wires not in relay). what have you guys done with your relays? Quote
Six_Shooter Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 I've just used the stock relay for new horns... Quote
NZeder Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 The other thing the wiper relay does is gives them power when the washer is in action. Quote
phillay Posted April 22, 2014 Author Posted April 22, 2014 Hmm I see, I haven't thought about that. I guess I will park it in the later to do list. My short term goal is to get it over the line for an rwc. I will ask my mechanic mate if that is an rwc item Cheers Regarding the horn relay, I cant find the correct colour wiring it seems as though the PO have spliced a couple of wires in the relay area and I am a bit paranoid with shorting circuits and melting fuses. Hence the preference of putting in new wires and relay. Quote
