Shock absorber bump stops query

The shock absorber bump stops on my 260 have literally crumbled away, so I ordered replacements via eBay & when they arrived they were a SuperPro brand Nolathene-type product & the correct ones according to the manufacturer's catalog & for across a number of Datsun models.

However, the 260's spring retainer has a tapered hat shape where the bump stop would reside, so these Nolathene ones don't fit hard up inside as they are not tapered. They do have a lip of sorts which holds them up near the top of the shock shaft.

Has anyone else come across this? Does it matter, in that the suspension travel could be reduced?

I'm not looking to use Nolathene necessarily, rubber stops would be fine if they're available from somewhere.

Thought I'd best ask before I go any further.....

I got my 240z ones from SW Motorsport. From memory I think Stewart suggested they were a progressive rate rubber. They were definitely the right shape for the top hat.
