So who have people used and what have your experience been? Who do you recommend?

I had a lot of my bodywork done by Rob at Zworx, which wasn't cheap at times but quality was always good. Unfortunately I hear he has retired and I have lost his phone number since coming back from overseas to confirm.

Another 260Z I owned I had resprayed by Racefix in Braeside. Quality was pretty good, all work was done on time and cost was around $3000 for exterior prep/full respray, filling the rear bumper, and all hanging panels/lids etc.

I have had several bad experiences with smash repair chains with various other cars so generally steer clear of them.

Yeah I'd be interested too. Im at the point at which I should really start looking for some panel and paint work. Any suggestions or recommendations in Brisbane, or surrounding areas?

So smash repair chains aren't the go then? Makes sense I guess, easier to replace panels on newer cars etc.

Cheers

Luke,

If the north side of Brisbane is convenient for you I can't recommend Gasoline Alley at Brendale highly enough. John and the boys their have done an awesome job on the body of my Charger, and it will be returning there pretty soon to get some more work done as I have changed my plans regarding what I will be using it for.

The contact details for Gasoline Alley are:

phone:  +61 7 3205 3205

fax:      +61 7 3205 8505

email:    info@gasolinealley.com.au

web:      http://www.gasolinealley.com.au

address: 15 Strathwyn Street

            Brendale, Queensland 4500

The shop specialises in restoration work, particularly muscle cars and american cars. They are also pretty well always busy so it pays to have some patience, and the results are well worth it.

I used a place here in Melbourne called Ted Naylor Bodyworks in Ringwood. He was fantastic and even did the late Crazy Johns Lambo. He was very accommodating to the many odd things I had done such as:- Welding in my sun roof, attaching a G-Nose, flaring guards 20mm front and rear, welding up various holes, instaling side indicator vents etc etc. Absolute quality work and after car when I have been back since. Highly recommended from me.
