Hello All,

I own a Datsun 260Z 2+2 here in Perth. It's good to see lots of people in Australia owning these awesome cars! I'm not very mechanically minded but bit my bit i'm learning everything on my Z and i'm hoping this forum will help with technical issues, spare parts etc.

My particular 260 is very special to me. My grandfather owned Esperance Autos way back when and bought this car as a trade in from a customer, wrecked after a head on collision. He had all the spare parts to fix it up and did so as a project car. It was then passed down to my father for a long while. When i was born my father gave back the Z for a more conventional car to put a baby seat in.

From a young age I fell in love with this car, and when i turned 18 my grandfather gave it to me. From there I've had a love/hate relationship with her, she needed TLC and I just didn't have the funds to do anything for her. I did at one point try to sell it to someone who could properly look after her.

Sadly last year my grandfather passed away in May and I knew I couldn't sell it. I had to fix it, however long it took. This car had so much history in my family I couldn't give it away now. So last week me and my mechanically minded friend drove down to Albany where she has been stored, serviced her, replaced the 25 year old tires and drove her back up to Perth.

Yes there's some rust, yes the electrics are buggy but she's mine. So hello Auzcar, for those in Perth i'll be going to the membership day on the 23rd of February in Belmont

(was it Belmont?)

Welcome. What a story, wow. I say right now that you have come to the right place for tech and parts. I was curious about your forum name but now it makes perfect sense.

Welcome, wow having a car pass through 3 generations not  many can that.

Bet you are glad that you didn't sell it.

Good lucking getting her back to her best.

As Mark said you have come to the right place for technical advice and parts.

Cheers
