Scoota G Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Hi guys. My headlight switch activated by the indicator stalk for the high an low beam fell apart. I was wondering if anyone has one or know of a suitable replacement? Cheers Quote
haul Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Mine did the same a few years ago, I ended up wiring in a floor switch. Cheers Tony Quote
Scoota G Posted June 5, 2013 Author Posted June 5, 2013 I found a switch at Jaycar today and modified the Zed carrier to suit. Just need to wire it up and see if it's a goer. Function seems to work the same as a stock one. Quote
Riceburner Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Did you end up getting the one from my parts car? Quote
Scoota G Posted June 5, 2013 Author Posted June 5, 2013 Did you end up getting the one from my parts car? Sure did. That was the one that broke. Rest of the mechanisim is ok. Quote
neRok Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 I am chasing the indicator switch (not the handle etc, just the switch part itself, appears to unscrew). Do you have one spare? Quote

No sorry i don't. I used the only spare one i had on my other zed to replace the toggle switch i had mounted there because of a previous failure. Mind you the toggle switch lasted 12 years and was still working fine. Quote
Riceburner Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Sure did. That was the one that broke. Rest of the mechanisim is ok. Bugger, must've had too much UV. Do any other Nissans use the same toggle/rocker mechanism? IIRC it's only three wires. Maybe there is a similar part on bluebirds, pulsars something like that. I've had the same issue recently. Quote
Scoota G Posted June 27, 2013 Author Posted June 27, 2013 Yes 1 negative and two other wires. I actually managed to use a switch from Jaycar electronics to replace mine. Took a bit of tweaking, i'll see if this one lasts 13 Years. Quote
