Well it has been a long time since I've used these forums and this is a horrible way to come back.

Simple details:

Model: 1976 260z 2+2

Location: Brisbane

Price: $12,500 - negotiable, not sure on the reality of this figure

Current condition: 1JZGTE from 1994 JZX90 chaser (reported Kms 134,000 on halfcut) - Engineering done/plated

A341E Automatic gearbox

16" Rota RBs

Everything else pretty much standard - along the way tie rods replaced, bushings replaced, springs and shocks replaced, swaybars replaced

Contact: Reply here/pm is fine

Quick history - I've had this car since 2004, over time problems mounted up and I was young/dumb enough to start a project. Very much with the intentions of starting a bit rat-rod and cleaning up along the way - mostly done as fun and fiddling when I had too much money and no responsibility.

2010 came around and my then girlfriend got a job offer in Japan that we couldn't really refuse - stored the car and got friends/family to keep it turned over/take it around the block occasionally to keep things okay. Returned to Brisbane in late 2012 and history has repeated itself, except I'm the one with the job offer - so me and my fiance are departing again come August. Keeping it stored again for what may be 3-4 years is just doing my brain in, so here I am.

Effectively - the car can drive from point a to point b - should it be driven? Not yet

Rust is creeping up in places (typically), and plenty of other indicators of an unfinished project. Frankly I'm tempted to ask around with my mates/just cough up and pay for storage this time around and hold on to the car - but I've got to be a bit more realistic and mature this time around and at least consider my options.

Just been sitting around mulling this over this afternoon and it is already dark - will take some photos of the car tomorrow and add it to this post.

The short of it is that I'd love for someone who is keen to treat this car better than I have in the past 3 years to have a chance at it :( If someone ends up wanting to take it and I'm not making too much of a loss on what I've invested, will of course throw in as many goodies as they want (original rims, original AM radio around here somewhere, parts harvested from the Chaser halfcut etc)

Will only be putting this EOI on this forum

Cleaned up first post a little

luvemfast - There was a fair bit of info to go in the subject line and BNE is the airport for Brisbane International, also generally used on forums to indicate Brisbane, the more you know

dat2kman - true, I'll do my best to start a petition with the mods to make a special forum just for me rather than clog up the for sale forum! Of course not giving up the vehicle and having a wad of cash dumped into my lap to justify holding on to would be preferable...

Retro z - To be honest I haven't thought strongly about it... I guess the current insurance cover on it values the car at $16,500 in current state - Given the unfinished factor and the time constraints on me leaving the country though, I guess I'm fighting an uphill battle (weighing it against putting it in storage costs), so a couple/several of G's under the $16,500? NFI how realistic that is.

BNE is common code for Brisbane in the airline/transport industry.

@ Cathartik I think its best for you to put up a few pictures of the car so people have an idea what they are getting and perhaps not be so emotional in replying to messages.

As for $16500, Id say yes... possibly if the 2+2 was built, painted engineered and roadworthy with no rust.

However in reality what you have is an unsafe, rusty, undesirable and incomplete 2+2 with a heap of used parts slapped together......

So in reality and its current state and without pictures to suggest otherwise, I would say $5k tops

^^^^^^

That is all  :P

You state in OP.

If someone ends up wanting to take it and I'm not making too much of a loss on what I've invested

Therefore. Your price is based upon losing on your "investment". Which isn't $16,500

Basically. You have a price. Let people know what it is and go from there.

Good luck with the sale.  :)

:D I'll edit the subject line just for you haha

I'll add pics as soon as I can tomorrow - but points are very well taken, hopefully the pics will give a clear enough indication of condition.

Valuation is harder for me though to work out a justifiable figure - obviously I'm going to be down on money, I accepted that when I started the project, accepted there would be costs to leaving the country once, just didn't expect to be leaving a second time! Anyone with a big heart and a bigger garage out there in Brisbane? haha
