Firewall orifices, captive nuts, etc?

Can someone tell me what the orifices #1 and #2 are for, and the purpose of the two captive nuts (#3). Thanks.

I think 1 and 2 are for the AC lines to go through the firewall.

as for the captive nuts, no idea, maybe to mount part of the AC system?

The two captive nuts are for throttle linkage. It's the anchor point for the carb linkage to attach to the link from the pedal.

 

#1 is choke linkage.

 

On my car #2 was for choke linkage, but I have a left hand drive car, so some things are on opposite sides. It may have been filled with a solid rubber grommet and not actually had anything passed through it.

#1  Choke cable grommet

#2 Accelerator rod from pedal through to engine bay linkage

#3 Captive nuts hold bracket with plastic bushing that supports rod that goes from firewall to carbs; that rod with the hook on the end with a spring and split pin.

The other two holes next to #2 are for heater hoses.
