New to the forum, new to the zed

Hi there guys and gals! I just signed up on the forum and are keen to purchase a zed in the near future. I will probably aim for a 260 because funds are a little shy of a 240! I have admired them for many years but have always had 1200s and sunnys etc. I have come across a 260 in the paper which I haven't  seen yet but it has a "Daytona" kit on it. the seller is telling me this is a rare thing on a zed, is this true?? I would be interested in any other cars that come up for sale on this forum too, I dont want to spend huge bucks at this stage, just an entry level car that will need work (mechanical mainly or some body work). This will get me by until I sell (or swap) some of my other projects.

Personally, there is a reason the Daytona kit is rare

Good luck finding one, will keep an eye out.  Have you got a ball park figure?

Hi there, I'm from Adelaide. I take it that the daytona kit is ugly??  Im looking to spend around $1000 on a project or if I can off load three of my other cars I will spend a lot more and get something that doesn't need as much work.

each grand you save in the purchase price ends up costing you 3 grand a year later.

its so true, buy Sooleys 240 shell, you cant go wrong there.  You may need to refinance though

I agree totally - spend 5k+ on a DECENT Zed.

 

Also be advised; Zeds are NOT CHEAP cars to do up (compared with a 1200).
