benny Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Hi All, As far as i know VSI8 is still in effect in victoria and VSI14 isn't, is this true? Does VSI8 limit capacity and induction? or is it limited to what the engineer believes is sound? Benny Quote
MaygZ Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Links would help my little brother. I'm too tired to do my own research, sorry. Quote
handsandwhich Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 As far as I am aware, VSB14 is in effect. I am going through engineering at the present time and this is what the engineer always refers to. This is the link for engine mods http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/vehicle_regulation/bulletin/pdf/NCOP3_Section_LA_Engine_01jan2011_v3.pdf And here for the entire thing http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/vehicle_regulation/bulletin/vsb_ncop.aspx Quote

Edit: Just read the section on capacity, though it only says reccomended engine capacity, it doesn't seem that it is enforced? Ben Quote
handsandwhich Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I guess you could try it on that it only says "recommended" engine size but I reckon my guy would say no. Unless you were willing to pretty much re-engineer/strengthen every other aspect of the car and do non-destructive testing on all the components to prove it was all above board. Unless you have something just so rare or different that you just want to power your car with, it's not worth the hassle as you can pretty much get more than enough power out of any of the available engines that we can slot into our cars. Next time I talk to the gingerbeer, I will casually ask him about the "recommended" engine size and just see what he says about it. Quote
