Rare Factory Colour

I recall my old neighbour in Canberra buying a 240z new..I also recall it was plum-purple in colour..Ive yet to this day ever see this colour on another Zed. Does anyone know of,  or has seen another zed with this colour. Im just Curious.

the only one i am aware of that could b close is the maroon gp colour i think its called that is on some 240zgs

I've seen a plum/burgundy/maroon one in Prahran, parked on Chapel Street.  No idea if it's the factory colour, but it's in fairly ordinary condition, so if it's been resprayed... I'd be surprised!

Are your sure it was a 240? the red wine metallic is the closest thing to purple in original colours that i've seen, but that was on the 260z.

There was 362 dark purple metallic, but I've never seen one. also a 260z colour.

The zed that I recall was a flat plumb-purple, definetely not metallic. I might flick thru some old family albulms to see if that car makes an appearance !
